Overview
Robert Dodson is a member of the firm's Real Estate practice group. He has a diverse background in the real estate industry, which includes drafting and negotiating joint venture documents, providing advice on capital and entity structuring, advising clients on matters related to land acquisitions, stabilized asset dispositions, real estate financing, construction, and multifamily development. In his daily work, Robert also provides legal guidance to clients on land development, construction, financing, general contracting, subcontracting, single-family homebuilding, retail leasing, and property management.
Robert has represented a wide range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies and national real estate investors and developers in the food service, hospitality, and industrial warehouse industries. He has also had the opportunity to represent owners, landlords, and tenants in retail and commercial leasing transactions.
Robert has represented investors, lenders, and developers in New Market Tax Credit, Historic Tax Credit, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit financed transactions in investments and loans ranging from $5MM to $200MM in underlying transaction value. Robert advises clients on transaction and entity structuring to maximize federal tax benefits, including effective tax rate management and tax incentives.
