At Bricker Graydon, our commitment to fostering a vibrant mosaic of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives is woven into the very fabric of our values. We firmly believe in creating a transparent and trusting space for all to thrive. This not only enhances the quality of our work, but also allows us to approach challenges with fresh insights and a collaborative spirit, ultimately leading to better outcomes for our clients. There is no better way to “create next” for our people, clients, and communities than through the lens of multiple perspectives.
ADVANCING OUR VALUES WITH THE MANSFIELD RULE CERTIFICATION
We proactively foster an environment where every member of our firm, from attorneys to staff, feels not only welcomed but truly valued and appreciated for their unique contributions. Our strategic approach includes empowering new leaders, implementing cross-generational mentoring programs, providing workshops to facilitate strong communication skills, encouraging authenticity in the workplace, offering alternative work arrangements, and driving recruitment programs exemplified by our Charles H. Walker Scholarship and various fellowship programs.
Bricker Graydon is proud to be an "Early Adopter" of Mansfield Certification. This milestone, first achieved in the 2023-24 cycle, underscores our unwavering commitment to ensuring that our hiring and promotions procedures are not only non-discriminatory and legally compliant, but that they put the right candidates in key leadership roles and partnership positions.
By embracing these standards, Bricker Graydon demonstrates transparency and accountability in building our legal community that reflects the richness of the world we serve. We are proud of our progress and commitment, because we believe our greatest strength lies in our differences.
COLLABORATION FOR LASTING CHANGE
Beyond our internal efforts, we actively collaborate with a wide range of national, regional, and local organizations that share our commitment to supporting employee empowerment and collaboration. Our attorneys generously contribute their time, talent, and financial resources to support these organizations, contributing to the broader cause of fostering a dynamic legal community.
OUR LEGACY OF COMMITMENT
Bricker Graydon was created in partnership between two firms deeply rooted in central and southwestern Ohio. Separately, these firms took pride in hiring, mentoring, and promoting some of the “firsts” for attorneys in our legal communities to ensure that talented lawyers were provided the opportunities to succeed.
Now, as Bricker Graydon, we work intentionally and collaboratively to foster a culture that continues to support and uplift talent through our core values of Excellence, Care, Inclusivity, Ingenuity, and Teamwork. We support relationship-building activities among our attorneys, consultants, and staff members to strengthen our connections, and host four affinity groups that help with this work: BG+, the Walker-Link Leadership Group, Women in Networking, and BG Ability. Participation in each of these groups is voluntary and open to all employees.
BG+
BG+ is an internal resource and network group supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. Our commitment extends to strengthening connections between our firm and the broader LGBTQ+ community through engaging social events and meaningful acts of service. Additionally, we actively promote and support the development of Bricker Graydon's culture, business initiatives, and recruitment goals.
BG Ability
BG Ability is dedicated to promoting inclusivity for individuals with disabilities, their families, and allies. Our goal is to provide education, resources, and support to empower everyone within our community and promote a culture of accessibility. Members are never required to disclose a personal disability, but we strive to create a safe space where individuals feel empowered to share their experiences and perspectives if they wish.
Walker Link Leadership Group
The Walker Link Leadership Group is an initiative that is open to all team members and strives to promote opportunities and improve the quality of work life for African American lawyers at Bricker Graydon and throughout the broader legal community.
Women In Networking Group (WIN)
Our Women in Networking (WIN) group celebrates and encourages the talents, attributes and experiences that women bring to the firm. WIN also provides opportunities for professional women to network in mutually beneficial ways and to support the needs of women and families at Bricker Graydon and within in our communities.
