H.B. 286: What It Means for Hospice Providers

Webinar
 | 11:30 am to 01:00 pm

Webinar

Late last year, H.B. 286 was signed into law by former Governor Kasich. The new law will create a Palliative Care Council to educate healthcare professionals and the community about palliative care. In addition, the new law will allow palliative care non-hospice patients to be seen in the Hospice Inpatient Unit for pain and symptom management. The Ohio Department of Health is currently meeting with stakeholders to create eligibility rules for palliative care patients seen in the Hospice In-Patient Unit. Even though the rules have not been developed, the law will take effect on March 20, 2019.

In this OCHCH-sponsored webinar, Kathy Royer of the Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice and Christine Kenney if INCompliance will discuss the new law and the impact on hospice providers.
