On November 3, 2016, in light of Title IX concerns, Harvard decided to cancel the school’s men’s soccer season in light of the discovery that members of the team participated in documenting ratings of women. Princeton canceled its men’s swimming season in December of 2016 for similar reasons. In an age of social media and increasing online-based communications, these incidents are not likely to be the last of their kind.

Josh Nolan, Courter Shimeall and Mandi Grandjean from Bricker & Eckler's Colleges & Universities practice will host a webinar on July 25 to discuss these issues. Specifically, the presentation will include a review of relevant Title IX law and how it applies to and interacts with team culture, relevant examples from the news of how these issues play out on the ground, and steps you might take on your campus to address these issues.
