Amazon fulfillment center to locate in Warren County

Firm News

The Warren County and Monroe communities will be host to a new Amazon fulfillment center that is expected to create 1,000 full-time jobs. The industrial park site where the Amazon facility is located is operated by IDI Gazeley and has been supported by multiple economic development tools administered by the City of Monroe and the Warren County Port Authority (WCPA). The WCPA issued $10 million in revenue bonds to fund infrastructure in support the industrial park and also abated certain sales taxes on building materials with respect to the Amazon facility in exchange for funds contributed by the facility’s owner for economic development programming in Warren County. In addition, the City of Monroe negotiated a 15-year, 100 percent real property tax abatement for Amazon’s facility. The Bricker Public Finance team served as bond counsel to the WCPA and as economic development counsel to the City of Monroe for this industrial park site. The news of the new Amazon fulfillment center choosing southwest Ohio was recently featured in the Dayton Daily News and the Cincinnati Business Courier
