Andrew Shott honored with AJAS 2011 Trustee of the Year Award

Cincinnati, Ohio —Andrew M. Shott, a partner in the West Chester office of the law firm Bricker & Eckler LLP, has been presented with the 2011 Trustee of the Year Award by the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) at their annual conference in Dallas. The award recognizes Shott’s dedication, leadership and service to Cedar Village, a not-for-profit senior housing and nursing home facility located in Mason, Ohio.

Shott has been actively involved with Cedar Village since its inception in 1997. He was instrumental in the formation and merger that led to the formation of Cedar Village, as well as the construction and financing of the nursing home. Shott has served as Chairman of the Board, Treasurer, Executive Committee Member, and Endowment Fund Committee Member. Recently, Shott has served as one of the founding Trustees of the Cedar Village Foundation (formed last year to separately administer and expand endowment assets of Cedar Village).

The AJAS represents Jewish retirement communities, senior housing and nursing homes throughout the United States and Canada. The conference, held March 27 – 30 in Dallas, was attended by more than 300 people who represent, operate or provide service to nursing homes, assisted living facilities and independent senior facilities.
