Chris Schmenk joins Bricker & Eckler

Firm News

Columbus, Ohio, May 6, 2013 … Christiane Schmenk, former director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, has joined the law firm of Bricker & Eckler, the firm announced today. Schmenk will be Of Counsel to the firm’s Public Finance group. She will also participate in the Economic Development and Public Sector groups, and will serve as Senior Vice President for Argus Growth Consultants, Bricker & Eckler’s wholly-owned subsidiary focused on economic development consulting services.

“Chris is a respected and strategic leader with hands-on experience in economic development and public finance,” said Kurt Tunnell, Bricker & Eckler’s managing partner. “Her experience in accomplishing economic development projects, as well as her extensive corporate background, will be extremely valuable for our clients involved in all aspects of economic development.”

As an attorney at Bricker, Schmenk will focus on helping the firm’s public sector clients – including municipalities, counties, school districts and other governmental agencies – with the economic development opportunities and public sector law challenges they face. Her recent work as Director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, where she chaired the Third Frontier Commission, as well as her experience as Mayor of Marysville, will allow her to assist both private businesses and public entities.

“Bricker & Eckler has a strong reputation for helping Ohio’s communities achieve economic development success,” said Schmenk. “I look forward to putting my background and experience to work serving the firm’s public and private sector clients.”
