Khouzam speaks to “the convergence of technology and law” for employers

Firm News

Bigger Law Firm, a legal tech news magazine, recently discussed a class action filed by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) that claims employment ads found on social media platforms outwardly target younger job applicants. CWA’s suit, which attempts to terminate age bias in online recruitment, may have a significant effect on how employers, including Amazon, T-Mobile and IKEA, use social media to attract job applicants.

Bricker employment attorney Joëlle Khouzam was featured in the article, providing insight regarding the convergence of technology and law. She states that “leveraging recruiting platforms whose back office operations (or algorithms) an employer or recruiter may not fully comprehend could nonetheless implicate an employer viewed as disregarding the obligation not to discriminate against or limit employment opportunities.”
