Kent Wellington Uses Sports to Build Community and Connection
Bricker Graydon’s Partner and Cincinnati Market Leader, Kent Wellington, was recently profiled in the Cincinnati Business Courier for his inspiring work with Saturday Hoops, a youth empowerment program he co-founded over 20 years ago. What started as a way to share his love of basketball with his own children has evolved into a citywide initiative that brings together thousands of kids and volunteers each weekend.
Saturday Hoops goes beyond the court. The program combines physical activity with reading, art, mentorship, and meals to create a holistic, positive environment for children in underserved neighborhoods. As Kent shared in the article, “If we continue telling these kids that they’re good teammates and good leaders and good readers, then they begin to believe it.”
Kent’s dedication to community engagement mirrors the values we live every day at Bricker Graydon: leadership, service, and creating meaningful impact.
