When Bricker Graydon attorneys and consultants speak with local and state elected officials, community stakeholders, private developers, and employers, a common theme arises from all four corners of Ohio: whether and how the public sector and/or public-private partnerships can help address the lack of available housing inventory for workers and families?

This Housing & Development Resource Center is intended as a landing page to list those very opportunities that can prove useful to enhancing housing development across the State.

Our team of public finance, political subdivision, and construction law-focused attorneys have compiled federal and state programs that can help local decision-makers induce housing rehabilitation and construction in their communities.

From identifying tried-and-true economic development public incentives that also can be deployed to housing projects (think tax increment financing, or TIF), to reminding thought-leaders that the Community Reinvestment Area abatement program was enacted in the late 1960s as a housing development program.  From identifying the (complex) means of using American Rescue Plan Act funds to offset the costs of affordable housing development, to tracking new, first-of-their kind single-family housing development incentives included into the current state budget bill (House Bill 33). This page seeks to list funding programs and incentives fully applicable in the context of filling Ohio’s housing needs.
