One old Cincinnati office building site could soon be ready for new life and new jobs with two potential industrial facilities. The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority won unanimous approval from the Cincinnati Planning Commission to subdivide an industrial site for a redevelopment plan that could attract up to 200 new jobs, the Cincinnati Business Courier reports. The Port will now “have two different industrial parcels to market” at the former BASF office site in Winton Hills, a 19.29-acre parcel and an 8.07-acre parcel, each of which could lure “advanced manufacturing facilities of up to 100,000 square feet” and “50 to 100 new jobs, according to documents submitted to the Planning Commission,” the article reports. The property is “zoned for manufacturing,” and would not need to be rezoned “to develop it for advanced manufacturing.” Port CEO Laura Brunner said, “[b]y creating two development-ready parcels, we are advancing our mission to return underutilized properties to productive use while driving economic growth and job creation.”

The Port “is heavily involved in complex development projects in Cincinnati and Hamilton County...The Port acquires and/or facilitates the redevelopment of industrial, commercial, and residential property, often in places where investment has lagged; helps neighborhoods develop housing; and acts as a financial conduit for real estate projects, allowing them to cut costs.” For more, read the full article (subscription may be required).
