Overview
Matt Warnock is a proud #GirlDad, starting his 16th year at Bricker Graydon after serving two years as Deputy General Counsel for an entrepreneurial company in the industrial power industry. Matt brings deep experience across the energy and real estate sectors, with a practice that spans litigation, policymaking, and transactional work.
The breadth of Matt’s experience after 15+ years in private practice and two (2) years in-house includes everything from building and growing an oil and gas practice from the ground up to handling appellate arguments (including three before the Ohio Supreme Court) to serving as outside counsel to a diverse group of energy companies to regulatory work before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and Ohio Power Siting Board, and to leading Bricker Graydon’s pro bono partnership with the City of Columbus to #SavetheCrew and keep professional soccer in central Ohio. Matt also has significant experience working through complicated contracts and title issues (particularly those involving mineral rights) and finding creative solutions for clients.
Matt previously served as Deputy General Counsel at One Power Company, an entrepreneurial, vertically integrated company focusing in the development, construction, ownership, and operation of on-site power solutions for large industrial power users. While in-house, Matt had the unique opportunity to help manage outside counsel relationships, participate in the evaluation of business and financing risks, and learn new areas of the law (e.g., employee benefits, immigration, IP, and general corporate).
