Overview

Matt has a strong foundation in real estate, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and civil litigation, making him well suited for navigating the legal complexities of public finance and economic development.

Matthew Mullins is an attorney in the firm’s Public Finance group, working out of the Cleveland Office. His practice draws on a diverse legal background that includes transactional work, regulatory compliance, and litigation support. As such, Matt is skilled at drafting and negotiating transactional documents, preparing litigation filings, and advising clients on strategic legal approaches across a variety of matters.

Matt brings experience from a range of clerkships and externships, including work with a community legal aid organization, a financial regulatory practice, and the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. His work has included structuring transactions, managing due diligence, SEC filings related to bank mergers, client advisories on applicable regulations, and drafting documents for both transactions and civil matters. This broad foundation informs his approach to public finance and the legal needs of state and local government clients.

Outside The Office

Matt is currently the chair-elect for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Ohio Association of Financial Professionals. Matt enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering at the Cleveland Food Bank and at local high schools as a 3Rs instructor. In his spare time, Matt enjoys going on runs with his dog, hiking, boating, and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
